What’s the best tax return website you use?

Hello, my spouse just roughly entered our W-2 into Turbo Tax, and it indicates that we owe $2,000. I want to know if there is another website we ought to check out to reduce our count. Why we have to pay so much is beyond me! If not, ought we to employ an accountant to handle this for us?

Any advice!

I use FreeTaxUSA, but using any other tax preparer will yield the same results; FreeTaxUSA just does not object when they find out you have investments and will not charge you an additional $60.

I appreciate your help! I’m hoping to find a cost-effective alternative to TurboTax.

I love FreeTaxUSA so much! For the past three years, that has been my go-to. If my memory serves me well, there is no filing fee if your income falls below a specific threshold. Your state return will cost you about $15 if your income exceeds a particular threshold. quite clear and user-friendly as well.

I agree with Brianna on the suggestion to use FreeTaxUSA, but I also think that the math is math. Assuming that TurboTax has the correct information, the outcome is as stated. The law cannot be changed by tax software.
