Is 1095 c needed to file taxes for health insurance?

Hello Fam! Just landed in Washington State. Wondering where to obtain 1095-A form? I want to make sure I have all the accurate information on my health insurance coverage through the marketplace and I need it for my tax filing. How can I obtain this form, and are there any deadlines or contact details that citizens of Washington State need to know?

I would be grateful for any guidance from people who have gone through this procedure before here!

Welcome to Washington @TaxSavvyNinja, To get your 1095-A form, you’ll need to contact the Washington Health Benefit Exchange, which manages the state’s health insurance marketplace.

Here are a few ways to obtain your 1095-A:

  1. Log into your account on wahealthplanfinder.org. If you filed taxes last year and have an existing account, the form may already be uploaded for you to view or download.
  2. Call the Exchange customer support line at 1-855-923-4633. Representatives can mail you a copy or help you access it online.
  3. Email exchange@wahbexchange.org with your full name and address, requesting a 1095-A to be mailed to you.

For the deadline, you have to contact wahealthplanfinder.org for the current update. Be sure to have it on hand when completing your federal return.
